Episode 23 – 404: Straight Not Found

In This Broadcast

The first safe space was a modem…

In this episode full of 90’s nostalgia, Dany and Claire take some time in an internet cafe to explore the many ways the Net changed queer history forever, and helped create the modern queer community as we know it.

From connecting advocacy groups, to providing access to much-needed information, to creating a unified vocabulary, explore some of the most important and unique benefits the Internet provided for the queer community. Then take a walk down memory lane, as we look at some of the specific technology platforms used by the community in the 80’s and 90’s (and even reminisce about how the internet helped Dany and Claire on their journey of self-discovery and understanding).
